Iran not to give in to foreign pressures: Bahraini at UNHRC
Ali Bahraini, Iran’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, says that Iran will not give in to pressures by Western countries that seek to accuse Iran over recent riots.
Bahraini made the comments at the United Nations Human Rights Council meeting on Friday which was held at the request of Western states to discuss recent Iran riots
He said that Tehran will not give in to foreign pressures and will not tolerate covert aggression and war of terrorism on the country under the guise of human right "concern."
Bahraini described said that the Islamic Republic recognizes right to peaceful protest but in the recent case, the foreign operatives linked with foreign intelligence services turned the initial peaceful protests to a violent terrorist war.
The Iranian representative also stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran does not recognize the legitimacy and validity of the HRC special meeting and the subsequent resolution.
He went on to stress that the Iranian nation, with an ancient civilization dating back to 2,500 years ago, has never succumb to colonial rule nor will it in the future.
"History proves that Iran neither surrenders to foreign pressures nor tolerates covert aggression under the guise of 'concern.'
