Military spokesman warns of Iran’s harsh response to any threat against leader

A senior spokesman for the Iranian Armed Forces warned that any act of aggression against the Leader of the Islamic Revolution would trigger a decisive and devastating response from Iran, stressing that such a reaction would leave the enemy with no safe place anywhere.

In comments on Tuesday, Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi reacted to threats made by US President Donald Trump, saying Iran attaches no importance to Trump’s commotion and rhetoric.

He noted that the enemy is fully aware of the power of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The spokesman said Trump knows well that if any hand were to be stretched toward Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, that hand would be cut off decisively and courageously.

The general added that the response of the Islamic Republic would go far beyond that, warning that it would result in the enemy’s world being set ablaze in such a way that no safe region would remain for them.

The spokesman noted that Iran’s enemies are seeking to instill fear and anxiety through psychological operations, cognitive warfare and media warfare. However, he stressed that they themselves know very well that if even the slightest act of aggression is carried out against the territory of Iran, a decisive and deterrent response will be delivered before that aggression could expand.

His comments came after Trump said on Saturday, “It’s time to look for new leadership in Iran.”

In remarks on January 17, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the recent sedition and riots that caused public distress and inflicted damage on the country, characterizing the nature of this sedition as American.

The Leader also described the statements of the US president—who referred to the destructive rioters and murderers as the Iranian nation—as a great slander against the people, stating, "The US president openly encouraged the rioters, and behind the scenes, the US and the Zionist regime provided them with assistance; therefore, we consider the US president a criminal, both for the casualties and damage, and for the slander he leveled against the Iranian nation."
