President Pezeshkian highlights direct US, Israeli involvement in Iran’s unrests
President Masoud Pezeshkian and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, in a telephone conversation on Friday discussed bilateral ties and regional developments.
Referring to the direct role and involvement of the US, the Zionist regime and some European countries in the recent incidents of Iran, President Pezeshkian said that his government pays heed to the people's demands and alleviating the pressures of the US sanctions.
During the phone talk, the two presidents reviewed the latest regional and international developments, as well as bilateral ties.
While appreciating the Russian support for Iran in the UN and other international organizations, President Pezeshkian touched on the recent incidents in Iran and the role played by the US, the Israeli regime and some European countries in unrests in Iran.
The Iranian president hailed good exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in different trade, transportation and energy sectors.
The Russian president, for his part, expressed his gratitude over his phone talk with Pezeshkian, and extended his warm greetings to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and the Iranian nation.
President Vladimir Putin said that Russia closely follows up the developments in Iran.
The Russian president condemned the measures by the rioters who attacked the governmental, public and religious buildings, as well as violent attacks on security and law enforcement forces with the foreign support.
President Putin reiterated that the rally by millions of Iranians after the unrests in support of the Islamic System and Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei clearly shows the reality in Iran.
The Russian president expressed hope to witness improvement and strengthening of economic issues through the measures of the Iranian government, while noting that Russia's diplomatic efforts to explain Iran's conditions and positions and prevent the escalation of tensions in international forums are ongoing.
President Putin also referred to the latest status of bilateral relations between Iran and Russia, affirming that Russia always welcomes the further expansion of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
