Sheikh Ekrima Sabri warns of Aqsa Mosque collapse
Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, the preacher of Aqsa Mosque and head of the Higher Islamic Council in Jerusalem, has issued a stark warning about the imminent threat facing Aqsa Mosque due to ongoing Zionist regime’s excavations beneath and around its compound.
Sheikh Sabri emphasized that what is happening is a systematic campaign aimed at erasing the Mosque’s presence and altering its Islamic identity, all while the world remains disturbingly silent in the face of these violations.
He pointed out that the Israeli occupation is rapidly working to establish infrastructure that undermines the mosque’s foundations, causing serious cracks in its walls and courtyards, as part of a larger plan to Judaize the site and eventually build the so-called “Temple” on the ruins of Aqsa Mosque.
His warnings came as tens of thousands of worshipers gathered for Friday prayers at Aqsa Mosque, where a special funeral prayer was held in absentia for the martyrs of Gaza and the West Bank who were killed in Israel’s ongoing aggression.
Despite strict military restrictions, thousands of worshipers from Jerusalem and Palestinian territories inside Israel made their way to the Mosque, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to their right to worship at Aqsa and their determination to remain steadfast there.
Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces imposed harsh restrictions and set up metal barriers at the entrances to the Old City and the Mosque, detaining dozens of young men, confiscating their IDs for extended periods, and preventing many from entering the mosque. These measures are part of an ongoing campaign to suppress and restrict Palestinians in Occupied Jerusalem and worshipers at Aqsa.
