UN experts recommend arms embargo on Israel and dismantling of GHF

UN experts have urged member states to impose a comprehensive arms embargo on Israel over its repeated violations of international law. They also called for the immediate dismantling of the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,” asserting that it is pursuing “military and geopolitical objectives” under the guise of aid distribution.

In a report published on Tuesday, the experts said, “Palestinians are paying the price for the international community’s legal, political, and moral failures.”

They stressed that “the prevention or delay of humanitarian aid constitutes a war crime aimed at starving civilians in the context of a documented and condemned genocide.”

The report added, “Seeing children die of hunger in their parents’ arms should shake us to our core and rouse us from this state of inaction.”

The experts highlighted that Zionist regime's “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation,” established in February 2025 with US backing under the pretext of aid distribution in Gaza, is “a deeply troubling example of how humanitarian relief is being weaponized to serve military and geopolitical agendas in blatant violation of international law.”

They warned, “We are allowing a state accused of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity to be entrusted with feeding the very population it is exterminating, without oversight and with total impunity.”

The report urged the reinstatement of aid distribution by UN humanitarian agencies and civil society organizations in Gaza.

Starvation in Gaza, driven by the Zionist regime's siege and US-backed war of extermination, has reached unprecedented levels in recent weeks. Local and international reports document a surge in deaths from malnutrition and dehydration, with medical sources in Gaza recording 189 starvation-related deaths, including 95 children.

Since late May, the “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” has led a joint US-Israeli project to control food distribution in the besieged enclave, sidelining international organizations that rejected it as a “death trap” designed to “engineer hunger, displace residents, and humiliate civilians.”

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, since the project began, 1,568 Palestinians have been killed and more than 11,230 injured by Israeli gunfire at food distribution points and aid queues.

UN experts confirmed that Zionist regime's forces and foreign military contractors continue to “indiscriminately fire on aid-seekers at these so-called ‘distribution points’ managed by the foundation.”

The report concluded by calling on UN member states to impose a comprehensive arms embargo on Israel over its persistent breaches of international law, suspend trade and investment agreements that could harm Palestinians, and hold commercial entities accountable for enabling or profiting from these violations.

Since October 2023, Zionist regime's US-backed genocidal war on Gaza has martyred more than 61,000 Palestinians, injured over 150,000, and displaced nearly the entire population of the Strip, amid destruction described as “unprecedented since World War II” by Palestinian and international reports.
