UN reports displacement of 69 Palestinian communities

The United Nations has reported that 69 Palestinian communities in the Occupied West Bank have been displaced since 2023 due to escalating violence from Zionist settlers.

According to a statement from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Palestine, approximately 2,895 Palestinians have been forced to leave their homes over the past two years.

OCHA attributes this displacement to a coercive environment fostered by increasing settler violence and restrictions on access to land and resources.

OCHA has underscored that the intensification of settler activities has led to unbearable living conditions, prompting families to abandon their homes and land.

The report indicates that 45 percent of the displaced families originate from the Ramallah Governorate, with significant numbers also from Al-Khalil, Bethlehem, Nablus, Tubas, Salfit, Quds, and Ariha Governorates.

Notably, OCHA recorded a spike in settler attacks from July 8 to 14, documenting at least 30 incidents that targeted Palestinian civilians, resulting in casualties and property damage. Of those displaced, 1,309 individuals came from Ramallah, while other severely affected areas include Hebron, Bethlehem, Nablus, Tubas, Salfit, Al-Quds, and Jericho.

The report further highlights that nearly one-third of those displaced in 2025 have originated from the Jordan Valley region.

In addition, data from the Palestinian Authority’s Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission revealed that over 2,153 settler assaults occurred in the first half of 2025.

These assaults resulted in the deaths of four Palestinians and included incidents of village raids, arson attacks on homes, shootings, land seizures, and the establishment of new outposts.
