Yemenis stage new million-man rallies in support of Gaza

Yemenis have once again taken to the streets of the capital Sana’a and other cities across the country to reiterate their support for Palestinians subjected to the Zionist regime’s genocide in Gaza.

People gathered in the al-Sabeen Square in Sana’a on Friday under the slogan, “Steadfast with Gaza. And ready and mobilized against aggression.”

Carrying the Yemeni and Palestinian flags, the protesters chanted slogans in solidarity with the Palestinians and in support of their country’s retaliatory operations against the regime.

Similar protests also took place in other provinces across Yemen, including Dhale, Ibb, Sa’ada, Ta’izz, and Hajjah.

A statement issued by the protests’ organizers condemned the silence of most of the Arab regimes on the massacres committed in Gaza, and the global inaction, which, they say, emboldens the regime to continue its crimes.

"The Yemeni people, with their wise leadership, will not retreat from their steadfast stances supporting Gaza and the whole Palestine,” the statement read, stressing that the Israeli and American threats won’t intimidate them.

The statement also urged the Arab and Muslim nations to boycott Israeli and American goods, saying boycott was “an effective and impactful weapon available to everyone as the least stance” to be adopted, amid the Israeli crimes in Gaza.

On an almost a weekly basis, Yemenis have been staging mass protests across the country to decry the Israeli atrocities in Gaza, and to reiterate their support for their country’s retaliatory operations.

Since the onset of the genocide in October 2023, Yemeni forces have carried out scores of operations in support of the war-hit Gazans, striking targets throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, in addition to targeting Israeli ships or vessels heading towards ports in the territories.

The Zionist regime launched the war after Gaza's resistance fighters waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the Zionist entity in response to the regime's decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.

The regime’s bloody onslaught on Gaza has so far martyred at least 57,268 Palestinians, mostly women and children.
