Hamas calls for urgent action to end Gaza siege

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has condemned the ongoing Israeli violations against the Gaza Strip, including blockade, starvation, and siege, as "crimes against humanity".

"These measures have taken hostage more than two million Palestinians, including sick women and children and cancer patients who need constant medical assistance in hospitals in the West Bank and Jerusalem," Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum said.

In a press statement on Tuesday evening, Barhoum regretted international silence and inability over the continuous Israeli violations against the Gaza Strip.

Barhoum held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the exacerbating suffering that Gazans are experiencing due to the 15-year Israeli siege on the impoverished enclave.

The Hamas spokesperson called for an urgent and effective Palestinian, Arab, and Muslim action to lift the Israeli siege imposed on the Gaza Strip and support the Palestinian people in the face of the Israeli occupation.
