Palestinian prisoner from Bethlehem dies in Israeli custody

The Palestinian Authority’s civil affairs administration has informed the Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner Society that a Palestinian prisoner has died at Israel’s Hadassah Hospital.
According to WAFA news agency, prisoner Nasser Khalil Radaydeh, a 49-year-old from al-Ubeidiya town in Bethlehem, was transferred to Hadassah Hospital yesterday from Ofer jail, where he was pronounced dead today, Sunday.
The new victim brought to 65 the number of Palestinians who had died in Israeli jails and detention camps since October, 2023.
A few days ago, 20-year-old prisoner Musaab Adili, from Nablus, was martyred at Soroka Hospital.
Those prisoners have now become among the victims of the systematic and unprecedented abuses perpetrated by the Israeli prison service against Palestinian detainees since the start of the genocidal war on Gaza. The Israeli violations against the prisoners, according to human rights reports, include physical torture, arbitrary punishment, denial of medical care, and other severe infringements on their rights.
In a related context, the Hamas Movement has mourned martyr Nasser Radaydeh, who died in Israeli detention, accusing the Israeli occupation regime of slowly killing the Palestinian prisoners in its jails.
Hamas described the incarceration conditions endured by the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails as “war crimes,” calling for international action to pressure Israel to end its violations against the detainees and hold its leaders accountable for their actions.
