Yemen carries out pre-emptive strike against US aircraft carrier

The Yemeni Armed Forces have carried out two significant military operations against US naval assets in retaliation for American and British attacks on the country and in support of Palestinians and Lebanese.

Yahya Saree, the spokesman for the Yemeni forces, said the first operation targeted the American aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea using cruise missiles and drones.

He said this operation was successful and thwarted planned US attacks against Yemen.

The other operation targeted two US destroyers in the Red Sea with ballistic missiles and drones. According to Saree, this operation also achieved its objectives.

He said that these operations took place over an eight-hour period.

Saree said they hold the American and British enemies responsible for turning the Red Sea region into a zone of military tension and its repercussions on maritime navigation.

The statement indicates that the Yemeni forces view these actions as a legitimate right to defend against and confront hostile threats in the Red and Arab Seas.

He asserted that their operations will continue until the aggression on Gaza stops, the siege is lifted, and aggression against Lebanon ceases.

The Yemeni army has been carrying out attacks on shipping in the Red Sea since November 2023, targeting vessels linked to Israel in an attempt to stop what is widely viewed as a campaign of ethnic cleansing in Gaza.

The attacks have almost cut the flow of ships to the Eilat port in southern occupied Palestine, imposing a huge cost on the Zionist regime.

The Yemeni army has also been attacking American and British ships in the region after the two countries started aerial aggressions against the Arab country in defense of Israel.

The US army has claimed that the Yemeni attacks "have nothing to do with the conflict in Gaza" and that they have "fired indiscriminately into the Red Sea", without providing any proof.
