Iran acting FM visits Iraq to discuss bilateral ties, Gaza war
Iran’s acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani visited Iraqi capital Baghdad and its autonomous Kurdistan region to discuss mutual relationships and the onslaught on Gaza.
Tehran, Qodsna – Iran’s acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani held talks with top Iraqi officials such as President Abdul Latif Rashid during his state visit to the neighboring country.
Bagheri Kani said that the stability and security of the region depends on bilateral and multilateral cooperation, adding that developing economic cooperation is a requirement for stability in the region.
Bagheri Kani and President of Kurdistan Region Nechervan Idris Barzani have reviewed issues of mutual interest.
Bagheri Kani had earlier met Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, and Masoud Barzani, the Leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).
The leader of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim met with Iran’s acting FM in Baghdad on Thursday evening.
Bagheri Kani and Iraqi Prime Minster Mohammed Shia al-Sudani emphasized Iran and Iraq call on the international community to help put an end to the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
