Yemenis reaffirm support for Palestinians in Gaza

Yemenis once again took to the streets of the country to reaffirm their support for Palestinians who are subjected to Zionist regime’s US-backed genocidal war.

On Friday, people gathered in al-Sabeen Square, the largest square of the capital Sana’a, as part of the weekly protests held in solidarity with the Gazans.

Similar protests were also held in dozens of squares in the provinces of Sa’ada and Hudaydah.

Carrying the Yemeni and Palestinian flags, the protesters condemned the Israeli crimes against Palestinians.

They also called for the boycott of American and Israeli goods.

Chanting slogans such as “Escalation by Escalation… The Yemeni is so powerful,” the demonstrators reiterated their support for the Yemeni retaliatory operations.

They also slammed some Arab regimes for failing to adopt a serious stance on Israeli crimes and also for suppressing pro-Palestine protests.

Almost every week, Yemenis stage protests in several cities across the country to condemn the Israeli crimes in Gaza and reiterate their support for their country’s anti-Israel operations.

Since October last year, the Yemeni armed forces have been launching attacks on targets in the occupied territories, and targeting ships in the Red Sea with owners linked to Israel or those going to and from ports in the occupied territories in solidarity with the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Israel launched the war on Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas waged the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity in response to the Israeli regime's decades-long campaign of bloodletting and devastation against Palestinians.

The regime has also blocked water, food, and electricity to Gaza, plunging the coastal strip into a humanitarian crisis.

Since the start of the offensive, the Zionist regime’s military has martyred at least 35,303 Palestinians and injured tens of thousands more, with most of the victims being women and children.
