Syrian expert on military issues stresses that US Secretary of State's visit to middle-east is in line with Washington's efforts to save Israel from heavy defeat in Gaza war.

Mohammad Abbas, in an exclusive interview with Qodsna reiterates that US is trying to save Israel from the dangerous consequences of Gaza war by diplomatic push in region.

Undoubtedly, US is not after expanding Gaza war and drag it into the Red Sea. Washington is trying to save Israel from Gaza swamp, but at the same time, it does not have necessary tools and alternatives to fulfill it, he noted. 

In addition, Zionist regime has failed to achieve any of its operational, tactical and strategic goals in Gaza war and cannot continue military operations in Gaza strip, Syrian expert added.

Mohammad Abbas also points to Israel's heavy losses as the main reason for the withdrawal of its troops from some areas of Gaza.

Resistance now has the upper hand on the battle field and is still able to take the initiative. Israel is now stuck in a quagmire from which it cannot escape, nor can it continue to fight, military expert noted.
