Al-Qassam fighters destroy 12 Israeli army vehicles in Gaza
Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said on Monday that its fighters destroyed at least 12 Israeli military vehicles, including tanks, during special operations in Gaza City and northern Gaza.
In a communiqué, al-Qassam Brigades said that special operations were carried out today in Beit Hanoun, north of Gaza, against Israeli soldiers holed up in a building and two tanks.
Al-Qassam Brigades added that one Israeli trooper was also gunned down by one of its snipers in Beit Hanoun.
Earlier, Qassam fighters attacked three Merkava tanks with Yassin 105 projectiles and destroyed them in the west and south of Gaza City.
Four tanks and armored vehicles were also attacked and destroyed with the same projectiles in the northwest of Gaza City.
One troop carrier burst into flames in the west of Gaza City after being attacked with one Yassin 105 projectile, the Brigades said.
In a separate operation, two tanks were attacked by Qassam fighters in the west of Gaza City with Yassin 105 and Tandem projectiles.
The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reporter said that fierce close-range clashes were taking place in the evening between resistance fighters and the Israeli occupation forces in the north and west of Gaza.
Al-Qassam Brigades also said that groups of fighters attacked infiltrating Israeli troops and vehicles in the east of Juhor ad-Dik and in southern Gaza with heavy mortar shells.
A few days ago, Abu Obeida, spokesman for al-Qassam Brigades, affirmed that the resistance group documented the destruction of at least 160 tanks and armored vehicles since the Israeli occupation army started its ground operations in the Gaza Strip.
