Dozens of Jewish settlers storm Aqsa Mosque

Dozens of Jewish settlers stormed the Aqsa Mosque from the Maghariba Gate under heavy police protection on Thursday morning.

According to the Islamic Endowments Department in Occupied Al-Quds, the settlers entered the Mosque in groups through its Maghariba Gate and toured its courtyards under tight police protection.

During their tours at the Islamic holy site, the settlers received lectures from rabbis about the alleged temple mount, and performed Talmudic prayers in the eastern area of the Mosque.

Meanwhile, the Israeli police imposed movement and entry restrictions on Muslim worshipers at the Aqsa Mosque’s entrances and gates.

Meanwhile, Palestinian civil society groups and activists have launched an appeal calling for an intensified Palestinian presence at Aqsa Mosque next Friday.

The appeal called on Palestinians in the West Bank and within the Green Line to head to Occupied Al-Quds and perform Friday prayer at the Aqsa Mosque.

This came in response to Jewish settlers' calls for mass incursions into the holy Islamic site during the Jewish holidays, which will start on September 15.
