Global campaign in support of Palestine starts activities of 2nd week
The global campaign called “Palestine is my compass” in Türkiye on Tuesday started the activities of the second week of the online conference in support of Al-Quds and the West Bank.
The activities, which include online and face-to-face meetings, are set to continue until the 21st of August.
During the online conference, Sheikh Najeh Bakirat, deputy head of the Islamic Awqaf Administration in Occupied Al-Quds, explained the role of the Islamic Awqaf in preserving the Islamic identity of Al-Quds and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
For his part, the Jerusalemite researcher Abdullah Ma’rouf stressed that the Israeli occupation is trying to change the identity of Al-Quds by obliterating its landmarks.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian writer, Lama Khatir, affirmed that the Israeli and Jewish settlers’ attacks aim to deter the Palestinian people from resisting the Israeli occupation.
Moreover, Somaya Jawabreh, journalist and monitor at the Palestine data center, underlined that Israel has been escalating its violations against the Palestinian people, adding that 2,703 attacks had been carried out in Jerusalem since the beginning of 2023.
More than 52 countries participated in the activities of the conference, which comes as part of the campaign launched by the Global Coalition in Support of Al-Quds and Palestine.
