Yemenis burned the flags of U.S. and Israel

Danish anti-Islam activist Rasmus Paludan burned Islam’s holy book outside the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm on Saturday, sparking protests in Istanbul and Ankara that night.

Surrounded by police, Paludan carried out his protest while making disparaging remarks about immigrants and Islam.

About 100 people gathered nearby for a peaceful counter-demonstration.

Protests also sprung up in Iraq and Jordan on Monday to express outrage over the Quran-burning.

"We say to the Western countries that it is not in your interest to leave your arena to the Zionist Jews to tamper with it and make it an arena for targeting the Quran and insulting the sanctities. The criminal and cursed Jews are the enemies of the past, the present, and the future. The Quran has given them ample room, and to talk about them, make warnings about them and draw a plan to defeat them. That is why they (the Jews) always fight the Quran and fight the sanctities."

"The offense and crime that was committed by burning a copy of the holy Quran under Swedish protection is clear evidence that whoever manages these criminal operations and insults to Islam as well as its sanctities is the Zionist lobby, to which European countries have submitted. They are now protecting all the criminal practices committed by these criminals."
