Canadian journalist: The most pressing interest of the 'collective West' is to overthrow the Iranian government. The current situation and unrests in Iran only benefits US and Israel.

Tehran (Qodsna) –Iran witnessed nationwide unrest and protests in several cities. Iran accuses Israel and Western intelligence services of plotting to start civil war in Islamic Republic.

Pointing to the West's hostility towards Iran, especially in the management of this unrest, British political analyst, Canadian journalist and political expert Eric Walberg in an exclusive interview with Qods News Agency said:  Canada is a perfect case of hypocrisy on women's rights. PM Trudeau himself comes from Montreal, where it is now forbidden for women to wear hijab in any state funded business, including schools. University students who dare to wear a head scarf are hounded.

“It's got so bad young Muslims there are thinking of moving. The state policy of racism incites the public to further anti-Muslim sentiment. So it's the policy of fighting Islamic activity”, he said.

If you are being hounded on petty things, it is impossible to speak out for Palestine or Iran, Canadian journalist noted.

“Of course the most pressing interests of the 'collective West' are to overthrow the Iranian government, to clear the path for US-Israeli hegemony in the Middle East”.

Iran is building new relations through BRICS and SCO, with Russia, China, India, Africa and Latin America. It is a truly new world order coming into being. Such turning points in history are difficult.

I hope that the Iranian government will be able to find new modus with the protesters. The current situation only benefits US-Israel, certainly not the Iranian people.
