60,000 worshipers attend Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Thousands of Palestinians reached Al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Al-Quds and performed Friday prayer in its courtyards amid strict Israeli measures.

Al-Quds sources said that 60,000 Muslim worshipers performed Friday prayer at the holy shrine.

Since the early hours, the Zionist regime’s police were deployed in the streets of Occupied Al-Quds and prevented Palestinians from the West Bank from accessing the Mosque to perform prayers. Nevertheless, several thousands of them managed to reach the holy site.

During the Friday sermon, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, stressed the importance of intensifying the Palestinian presence at Al-Aqsa.

He also condemned the Israeli removal of the dome and crescent of the minaret of the Jerusalem Citadel, southwest of the Old City, as a flagrant attack on Islamic endowments.

On the other hand, Sheikh Sabri hailed the Arab and Islamic peoples' support for Palestine at Qatar World Cup, saying that normalization has come to an end.

Earlier in the morning, thousands performed dawn prayer at the holy site despite Israeli restrictions.

Since the early hours of dawn, thousands of Palestinians gathered at the gates of the al-Aqsa Mosque on their way to attend the dawn prayer, confirming the Palestinians’ spiritual links to the holy site.
