Over 125 Palestinian women abducted since 2022 started

More than 125 Palestinian women have been abducted since the beginning of the current year, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).

32 Palestinian women are also still in Israeli jails, and prisoner Maysoun Musa from Bethlehem is the longest-serving of them as she has been in jail since 2015, serving a 15-year prison term, PPS stated on Wednesday on the occasion of the National Palestinian Women’s Day.

Among those female detainees, there are several mothers and elderlies, and some of them suffer from very difficult health conditions and deliberate medical neglect, like the case of prisoner Israa Jaabis, who suffers from burns and needs surgical procedures.

They are also exposed, along with their families, to maltreatment and humiliation at the hands of Israeli jailers during visits.

Since 1967, more than 17,000 Palestinian women have been either arrested or jailed, according to PPS.
