Hamas calls for strenuous efforts to implement Palestinian unity deal

Following the Gathering Conference for the Palestinian Unity hosted by Algeria, Haneyya said that any step to achieve national unity will certainly serve the Palestinian cause and the future of the Palestinian people.

He further considered the unity agreement as "a glorious historical moment under the auspices of (Algerian) President Abdel Majid Taboun"

"The agreement included all the principles and premises that constitute a Palestinian vision under the auspices of our brothers in Algeria and with an Arab support to achieve reconciliation and end the division," he said.

He pointed out that an Algerian working committee will be formed to follow up the implementation of the agreement terms.

Along the same line, member of the Hamas Political Bureau Zakaria Muammar said that his Movement is ready to test the practical implementation of the national unity agreement in Algeria, hailing Algeria's Arab nationalist role and absolute support to the Palestinian cause.

"Hamas has shown the highest levels of responsibility and flexibility, realizing that national unity is an obligatory path to achieve the goals and interests of our people," he added.

He further called on all Palestinian forces and factions to assume their responsibilities and safeguard the implementation of this agreement.
