Scores of Palestinians injured, 10 arrested in settlers’ raid in Aqsa

Around 35 Palestinian worshippers were wounded while ten others were arrested on Monday during a massive Jewish settlers’ raid into Al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Al-Quds.

According to Palestinian sources, 35 Palestinian civilians were injured, two of whom suffered bruises, after Israeli police attacked the Palestinian worshippers and journalists in the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards to facilitate the settlers’ raid into the holy site.

Israeli police intensified their presence near the Bab al-Silsilah and Bab al-Asbat gates, attacking Palestinian citizens and preventing them from reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque, the sources added.

Earlier in the morning, Israeli police restricted the Palestinian citizens’ access to the Mosque, checking their ID cards and preventing civilians under the age of 40 from reaching Al-Aqsa.

335 Jewish settlers, protected by Israeli police, broke into the Al-Aqsa through its Maghariba gate and provocatively performed Talmudic rituals in the courtyards of the holy site to mark Jewish holidays, in addition to blowing the shofar near the Bab al-Qattanin gate, according to Islamic Awqaf Department in Jerusalem.
