Sheikh Sabri warns of Israeli plan to impose Jewish rituals at Aqsa
Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, head of the Higher Islamic Council in Occupied Al-Quds, has said that the most dangerous threat that is facing the Aqsa Mosque nowadays is the intensive break-ins that are carried out by extremist Jewish settlers.
“The plan to use the shofar (trumpet) in the Aqsa Mosque’s courtyards means imposing the Jewish religion on the Aqsa Mosque and performing rituals of non-Muslims, and this also means imposing a new fait accompli at the Mosque and controlling it gradually,” Sheikh Sabri warned in recorded remarks on Saturday.
“On every Jewish religious or national occasion, Jerusalem City becomes a military zone and there are security forces across its streets and neighborhoods,” he added.
He also condemned the Israeli occupation authority for persisting in banishing Muslim worshipers from the Aqsa Mosque, describing such measure as an “illegal and uncivilized policy” that violates Muslims’ freedom of religion.
“There is no country in the world that banishes people from their own places of worship except the Israeli occupation authority,” he said.
