IOF breaks into Yatta town, clashes erupt

Clashes erupted in Yatta town, south of al-Khalil, after being violently stormed by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Saturday.

Teargas bombs were fired during the raid, while local youths responded by throwing stones at the military jeeps.

Meanwhile, three Palestinians were detained including two ex-prisoners, while several others were summoned for investigation.

Also in al-Khalil, the Israeli forces stormed the house of MP Basem Zaarir in As-Samou' town and threatened to arrest him.

Palestinian protesters also managed to target an Israeli military watchtower, which is erected at the entrance to Beit Ummar town, with Molotov cocktails.

Clashes also broke out overnight in Nablus after the IOF stormed the archaeological area in Sebastia town.

A Palestinian young man was rounded up in the Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem, while an ex-prisoner was detained in Nour Shams camp in Tulkarem.

The Israeli occupation army regularly conducts raids, search and arrest operations in Palestinian towns across the occupied West Bank, which have intensified this year with Palestinians arrested on a near-daily basis.

4,500 Palestinians are held in Israeli jails, including 32 women, 180 children, and 743 administrative detainees.
