Both leaders also addressed the regional political changes and the Israeli occupation's efforts to penetrate deep into the region through normalisation and their negative repercussions on the Palestinian cause and the region.

They reaffirmed the necessity of comprehensive resistance as a strategic option to confront the Israeli occupation.

The senior Palestinian officials also discussed the situation of the Palestinian people at home and abroad and in refugee camps and how they are given a decent life wherever they are.

In a separate meeting, Head of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh has met with Jamil Mizher, deputy secretary general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

Both accompanied by senior delegations from their movements, Haniyeh and Mizher discussed the latest developments concerning the Palestinian cause at the field and political levels.

The meeting addressed the situation in occupied Jerusalem, including Judaisation schemes and attempts to take over Muslim and Christian holy sites and impose a temporal and spatial division at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in addition to the growing illegal settlement activity in the occupied West Bank and how to confront these moves through comprehensive resistance.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed attempts by the Israeli occupation to integrate itself into the region through normalisation and form new regional alliances that boost its desire for domination.

Such attempts require bringing the Palestinian cause back to the forefront as the Arab and Muslim world's central issue and exerting strenuous efforts to undermine the Israeli occupation's moves to penetrate into the region at the expense of the Palestinian cause, they stressed.

The senior Palestinian officials talked about how to reorganise the Palestinian house and reinforce the option of resistance and joint action to confront the Israeli occupation and its schemes and achieve the Palestinians' aspirations.
