Number of Palestinian administrative captives in Israel increased to 650

The number of Palestinians held in administrative detention in Zionist regime’s jails without charge or trial has increased to 650, said the Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission.

It said Israel has intensified its administrative detention orders in March and April, particularly in occupied East Al-Quds, which was the reason behind this surge in number in a short period. The number before this stood at 450.

The Commission said the Palestinian administrative captives often resort to hunger strike to secure their release from prison, the latest is Khalil Awawdeh, from the Hebron district, who has been on hunger strike for 46 consecutive days demanding an end to his administrative detention.

Some detainees went on hunger strike for more than 100 days before securing their freedom.
