Expert meeting on recent developments in Palestine:

International law in support of Palestinians only piece of paper

An expert meeting on the Horizon of Palestine Development was held on the eve of International Quds Day with the attendance of Nasser Abu Sharif, representative of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement in Tehran, and Hossein Ruivaran, expert on regional issues.

Tehran (Qodsna) - On the eve of International Quds Day, an expert meeting on the Horizon of Palestinian Developments was held in Tehran on Saturday with the attendance of Palestinian figues and Palestinian affairs experts.

Nasser Abu Sharif, the representative of the Islamic Jihad movement in Tehran, congratulated the start of the holy month of Ramadan, saying that "all the crises and problems that the region is experiencing today, are related to the existence of the Zionist regime. Resistance is the legitimate and religious right of the Palestinian people. Everything that has been written in international organizations against the Zionist regime in support of the Palestinians is just a series of writings on papers. At present, efforts are being made to destroy the Egyptian, Syrian and Iraqi armies in order to preserve the Zionist regime.”

“There are now 700,000 Zionist settlers in the West Bank. These are the most challenging people on earth. Westerners can not stand them either. They are very controversial. On a daily basis, various operations are carried out by the Israeli occupiers in the region, including the cutting of Palestinian olive trees. Palestinian prisoners and Palestinian citizens are condemned in an unjust process. About 15 Palestinians are detained daily,” he added.

Referring to the latest war between the Gaza Strip and the Zionist regime in May, the Palestinian official stressed: “Operation Saif al-Quds (Sword of al-Quds') was an operation that united the Palestinian people. Now the Palestinian people are more united than ever. The Zionists in the North of the West Bank seek a new conspiracy against the Palestinian people. They seek to put more pressure on these people, but the pressure will eventually lead to an explosion of Palestinian anger and another intifada.

Abu Sharif also talked about the notorious normalization deals between some Arab regimes and the Zionist regime, noting that “the Palestinian people have no choice but to fight and resist as the relations between the Arab countries and the Israeli regime normalize. Like the intifadas they carried out and defended themselves over the years, we demand the Islamic Ummah to support the Palestinian people, because this is a war and a conflict for for whole Muslims.”

In the next part of the meeting, Hossein Raviran, expert on Middle East affairs talked about the development of resistance among Palestinians.

“Palestinian society now emphasizes resistance more. In the recent Palestinian operations, we see the presence of all Palestinian factions and spectrums. That dichotomy between compromise and resistance is over. The activation of the Al-Aqsa Fatah movement has also shown that even if Mahmoud Abbas moves in this anti-Palestinian political course, his allies will be scattered around him in the not-too-distant future,” Ruivaran said.

“The current dire situation has forced Palestinian youth to carry out martyrdom-seek operations for their freedom and the lives of their families. Palestinians do not seek death, they seek life,” he said

Ruivaran also underlined that “for the first time, the American study community is not fully aligned with the Israeli regime. The United States used to defend Israel, but now, especially after the withdrawal from Afghanistan, the level of support for Israel has decreased.”

“Now the US priorities have shifted to Russia and China. Reducing the US presence in the region is a blow to Israel's security. Study centers in the United States emphasize the priorities of China, if this country does not reach China, it will lose the power structure in the world,” he added.

Ruivaran talked about recent regional developments, saying that “the Negev Summit showed well the friends and enemies of Palestine. With the expansion of armed operations in the West Bank, the Palestinian people inflicted heavy casualties on Israel. The peace process had planned that the Palestinian issue should be resolved first and that relations between Israel and the Arab regimes should be established.”

“Arab regimes’ cooperation with Israel means supporting the policies of this regime. Continuation of these conditions increases the unity of the resistance groups,” he further said.
