International Union of Muslim Scholars president condemns Morocco-Israel relations

The president of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Dr Ahmad Al-Raysuni strongly condemned Moroccan-Israeli relations.

In a statement, he asserted: "Morocco is currently at a crossroads. Morocco's relations with the Zionist enemy is not like what we were told a year ago – just a recognition of the usurpation state in return for the US recognition of Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara."

He added: "The issue has become no longer as it was said, but it [Morocco] is currently being completely immersed in the forbidden love with the Zionist enemy and opening all doors for it: comprehensive deals, consecutive visits and destructive Zionist invasions."

Al-Raysuni confirmed that Morocco possesses strong military and intelligence capabilities, and many countries are offering their services to it. Al-Raysuni, therefore, questioned: "What can the Zionist enemy offer in these fields more than penetration, implication, buying officials and making collaborators?"

On Thursday, Israeli media revealed the signing of a joint defence deal between Israel and Morocco, without disclosing further details.

Later on, Israeli media noted that the deal relates to arms and "unprecedented joint security and defence cooperation."
