Jewish extremists provoke Muslims arriving at Al-Aqsa Mosque for worship

Jewish extremists provoked Palestinian Muslims who were arriving at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Al-Quds Old City for worship by holding Talmudic prayers outside the main gate leading to the Muslim holy compound, according to witnesses.

They said that around 25 Jewish fanatics gathered outside Bab al-Asbat (Lions Gate) that leads straight into the walled Al-Haram Al-Sharif that encompasses Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock, the third holiest site in Islam, and held prayer there under Israeli police protection as Muslims were arriving at the Mosque for the noon prayers.

The performance of the fanatics provoked the Muslim worshippers but no clashes were reported.

Jews are not allowed to enter the holy compound on Fridays and Saturdays but can visit it for a few hours in the morning during weekdays. Non-Muslims are not allowed to perform any sort of religious rituals inside the 144-dunum compound, a purely Muslim holy place.
