Mustafa al-Kadhimi has no
chance of becoming prime minister again

Kanani Moghadam

Recent developments in Iraq, especially after the parliamentary elections, are entering a dangerous situation, which, with the wise management of the Iraqi currents, has so far have been prevented from entering a critical situation.

In an exclusive interview with Qods News Agency, an analyst of West Asian affairs Hossein Kanani Moghadam said that “I have to point out that the recent developments in Iraq have been very complex, certainly the interference in the election was done by groups that are backed by the United States.”

“We should note that the current situation in Iraq is a fabrication of the US occupation of Iraq, as well as the differences that took place in the Shiite House, which pushed the scene in a direction that threatened the security and integrity of Iraq,” he added, referring to factors which are escalating the situation in Iraq.

“Clearly, the chances of Mustafa al-Kadhimi being re-elected as prime minister have been completely ruled out. It seems that the future government will not vote for al-Kadhimi and a new figure will be elected.”

He then talked about recent assassination attempt against Iraqi Prime Minister, assessing that “In the end, the United States wins any insecurity in Iraq, because it justifies its illegal presence on Iraqi soil.”

“The more Iraq moves towards more security, it is definitely in the interest of the Iraqi people. On the other hand, any action that leads to a crisis in Iraq will ultimately benefit the Americans,” he further explained.

“The Americans seem to working to remain in Iraq; groups affiliated with the United States have been advised to escalate insecurity in Iraq. The attack on the Iraqi Prime Minister's office appears to have been planned by the United States and the Zionist regime, but it may have been carried out by some groups inside Iraq that have no organizational affiliation with the United States.”
