MEMO Publishers' No Way to Gaza translated into Portuguese

MEMO Publishers' book "No Way to Gaza: A Chronicle of Adventure and Fraud Under the Egyptian Blockade," has been translated into Portuguese and will be released on 28 November.
 

The book, which outlines the lengthy, harrowing journey by Brazilians Renatho Costa, Rodrigo D.E. Campos and Lucas Bonatto Diaz across the Sinai Peninsula to Gaza, is available for pre-order on Amazon.

"No Way to Gaza" shows the Egyptian dictatorship's role in maintaining the siege on Gaza, while also taking on the role of mediator in the conflict. It shows how the Brazilians, who were heading to Gaza to film a documentary, were met by a series of bureaucratic and military impediments in spite of having all the necessary visas and authorizations to make the journey. The objective of the harassment: to prevent the filming from taking place, the filmmakers say.
 

Costa will launch the book later this month in an event, which will be live-streamed on social media. He will be joined by Arlene Clemesha, professor of Arab History and Palestinian History at the University of São Paulo; Reginaldo Nasser, professor of International Relations at the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo; Soraya Misleh, Palestinian-Brazilian journalist; and Cilene Victor, journalist with international coverage of humanitarian issues.

A public launch will be held the following day, to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, in the Al Janiah Palestinian restaurant and cultural centre in São Paulo. It is being jointly hosted by MEMO, the Front for the Defence of the Palestinian People in Brazil, the Latin Palestinian Forum, the Foundation Amigos da Palestina and the BDS movement.
