Gilboa jailbreak disrupted
the equations of the Zionist regime

Jamil Alyan

Gaza (Qodsna) - The jailbreak of Palestinian captives from the Gilboa maximum security prison was a heavy defeat for the Zionist regime and will undoubtedly have a major impact on the equations in the occupied territories. This victory will also have a major impact on the ongoing prisoner exchange talks in Cairo.

This unique and heroic operation, which was skillfully carried out, revealed the empty power of the Zionist regime; It would also have a significant impact on the popular Intifadas in Palestine and strengthened the fighting spirit of all Palestinians.

According to the Geneva Convention, Palestinian captives are considered prisoners of war. The provisions of this convention emphasize the need to respect the rights of prisoners of war, but the Zionist regime, in violation of international agreements, has taken inhumane measures against Palestinians and deprived them of their minimum rights while torturing them.

According to the convention, prisoners of war who escape from prison should not be punished or tortured for escaping from prison, but the Zionist regime violates this convention. The Zionist regime tortured, abused, and punished the escapees.

Currently, more than 4,000 Palestinian captives are being held in Israeli prisons, including 41 Palestinian women and 225 Palestinian children.

Speaking exclusively with Qods News Agency, Jamil Alyan, an Islamic Jihad official said that “the issue of Palestinian captives is one of the basic and strategic principles of the Palestinian resistance groups, and in this regard, in recent decades, several operations have been carried out to capture Zionist troops to exchange prisoners. The issue of prisoners is at the heart of resistance strategies, and there has always been a very strong link between the release of prisoners and the Palestinian national project.”

“Palestinian people from different classes, regardless of their political affiliation, have never stopped supporting the issue of captives and consider it a fundamental principle in the face of the Zionist project. The Palestinians have all come to understand the fact that throughout history they have been able to free the captives from the prisons of the Zionist regime only with power and resistance,” the Palestinian official added.
