Israeli forces killed 55 Palestinians in occupied West Bank since start of year

A total of 55 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank this year, all by live ammunition, according to a UN report.

A total of 55 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank this year, all by live ammunition, according to a new report by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

“Overall, Israeli forces injured 221 Palestinians across the West Bank,” the report said.

A total of 527 Palestinian-owned structures were demolished in 2021 in Area C of the West Bank, which led 733 people to forceful emigration, it added.

Palestinians as well as the international community consider Israeli demolition politics in the occupied territories as illegal.

More than 600,000 Israelis live in over 230 settlements built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East al-Quds.

All Israeli settlements are illegal under international law as they are built on occupied land. The UN Security Council has condemned Israel’s settlement activities in the occupied territories in several resolutions.
