Society for the Defense of the Palestinian Nation:

Al-Aqsa Mosque axis of unity of Islamic Ummah for Palestinian resistance

August 21 is the anniversary of the burning of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first qibla of Islam, by the Zionists in 1969. This day has been registered as the World Mosque Day at the suggestion of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Iran-based Society for the Defense of the Palestinian Nation has issued a statement on this occasion.

Tehran (Qodsna) - “World Mosque Day is a revolutionary day. It is a day that reminds us not to forget the enemy. It is a day that warns the enemy does not miss opportunities for hostilities. It is a remembrance day for an Islamic task. It is the day of confrontation with the Zionist regime,” the statement reads.

The statement also warned about Zionist plots against Al-Aqsa Mosque, stating that the Zionist regime knows the importance of mosques for Muslims. “The Zionist enemy has destroyed a large number of mosques in Palestine and has been trying for years to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque, the most important symbol of Palestinian religious, historical and civilizational identity.”

“With the passivity of Islamic societies, the enemy's aggression against Al-Aqsa Mosque has intensified, and with the betrayal of some Arab and Islamic regimes in the process of normalization, the attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque has become more widespread,” it added.

The statement also highlighted the role of Al-Aqsa Mosque as “the axis of unity of the Islamic Ummah for struggles of the Palestinian people.”
