Expert meeting of "Liberation of Al-Quds is closer"
held in Tehran

Qodsna (Tehran) - An expert meeting on the title of “The liberation of Al-Quds is closer” was held in Tehran on Wednesday as a part of meetings before the International Quds Day.

Khaled Ghodumi, the representative of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Naser Abu Sharif, the representative of the Palestine Islamic Jihad movement in Tehran, and Dr. Hossein Ruivaran, a member of the Society for the defense of Palestinian People (SDPN) gave a speech during the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Hossein Ruivaran talked about the reasons why the Islamic Republic of Iran designated the International Quds Day, saying that the answer is relevant to the political structure of Iran, which encompasses both “Nation-state” and “Nation-Ummah” structures. The designation of Quds Day was one of the main pillars of the “Nation-Ummah” notion, which reflects the religious duties of Muslims towards the Palestinian issue.

He called the designation of Quds Day a meaningful, ideological, and significant measure.

“Another goal that Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Revolution, pursued, was to make Palestine the center of all of his political achievements. He designated the Quds Day in the most important month of the Islamic calendar to shift the focus of Muslims to the holy city of Al-Quds and create a culture of responsibility towards the Palestinian issue,” Ruivaran added.

The Middle East affairs analyst also talked about Iran’s support for Palestinians, stressing that the Islamic Republic was committed to supporting the resistance groups in Palestine from the very beginning.”

“As we have witnessed over the past weeks, Iran’s responses in seas has pushed back the Zionist regime, and the Zionist enemy has not targeted Iranian ships since then. The recent attack against the Dimona reactor was another significant incident that proved Syria will retaliate if Israel’s attacks on Syria soil continue. After Dimona’s incident, there has been a shift of policies among Arab countries towards Iran” he said, referring to recent upheavals in the region.

Khaled Ghodum, during his speech, pointed out a recent heroic attack by a young Palestinian, saying that “this young individual wounded three Zionist forces and returned to his house safe and sound.”

He then talked about recent raids by the Zionist forces to the neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah and stressed that Israel is violating its previous agreement with the Jordanian governments on the neighborhood.

“We have seen that Zionists have plotted to sabotage attacks against the resistance axis, such as the attack against Natanz nuclear plant,” the Hamas official added, saying that it is a result of division among Islamic countries.

In the next part of the meeting, Naser Abu Sharif, the representative of the Palestine Islamic Jihad movement in Tehran described International Quds Day as the uprising day of the Islamic Ummah against the most dangerous attack in history.

Abu Sharif referred to British involvement in the occupation project in Palestine and the establishment of the Zionist regime, saying that “we are not just facing the 7 million occupier Jews, we are dealing with all tyrannical and arrogant forces of the world.”

Talking about the epic action of Imam Khomeini in the designation of the International Quds Day and his support for the Palestinian nation, Abu Sharif continued that “Palestine is a part of Islamic Ummah, therefore, those who seek warming ties with the Zionist regime will fail.”

‘Imam Khomeini called Palestine as a significant part of Islamic horizon. Palestinian is, in fact, the intersection of Islamic and Western projects,” Islamic Jihad Movement official added.

He also reaffirmed that International Quds Day is an informing day to people around the world, so that nations be aware against falsification of facts.

“Today, we witness a deterring power in the Gaza Strip against Israel, a power that we had not seen ever before. This is the fruit of individuals such as Martyr Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani,” Abu Sharif said.

“On the other hand, Hezbollah Movement has created a great horror for the Zionist regime,” he added.

“We follow the Islamic order and path, and we are committed to this path will bring victory. We believe that the victory is inevitable,” the Palestinian official stressed.
