Al-Quds can’t be
set aside in any way

As expected, Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas canceled the Palestinian elections. He, whenever his role has been ignored by the Zionists and sometimes by the United States, has raised the issue of dialogue and convergence with the Palestinian resistance groups. In fact, He used the issue of Palestinian reconciliation as a lever to strengthen its position in the Zionist government and the West.

During the Donald Trump’s presence in the White House and the US political developments on Palestinian issues based on US needs and in the context of the “Century Deal”, Mahmoud Abbas felt deeply danger, because in that new developments of the United States, the Arab governments replaced it in the process of negotiations with Israel.

This issue led Mahmoud Abbas to follow the process of national talks, and the result of these talks was the holding of Palestinian elections as the first and most important step in forming a national unity government.

But with the change of the U.S. president and announcing the policies of Joe Biden regarding two governments' solution and the return of the Palestinian side to the Israeli negotiating table, it was expected that Mahmoud Abbas would seek excuses and ignore all previous agreements, especially the cancellation of elections.

In a decree to cancel the Palestinian elections, Mahmoud Abbas stressed that he would cancel the elections because the groups were not committed to international conditions. Mahmoud Abbas refers to the international conditions of the commitments signed under the Oslo Accords and subsequently in talks with the Zionists, the most important of which are the return of refugees to Palestine, the suspension of Palestinian demands for Al-Quds and the release of Palestinian captives from the Zionist regime’s jails.

In fact, these conditions that Mahmoud Abbas is talking about them, are in complete contradiction with the right to self-determination and democracy as well as the legitimacy of the elected leaders of societies.

.All Palestinian groups stressed that elections should be also held in Al-Quds, because Al-Quds is the religious, historical and cultural identity of Palestine, and no Palestinian state would make sense without Al-Quds

The cancellation of the Palestinian election appears to be a joint decision by Mahmoud Abbas, the Zionist regime and the United States, all of them have expressed strong concern about Hamas' victory in the election.

On the other hand, the Zionist regime has always tried to deny the issue of the Islamic identity of Quds. Trump's move to recognize the city as the capital of the occupying regime and the relocation of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Al-Quds, along with the occupiers' ongoing aggression to change its identity and demographic context, can be assessed in this regard.

As the several resistance groups have repeatedly emphasized, the issue of Al-Quds not only can’t be set aside of any solution, but also must be the central issue of all solutions. For this reason, they have warned that they will use all their power to protect Al-Quds.

The presence of over 80 thousand Palestinians in Al-Aqsa Mosque and the recent clash with the Zionists show that Palestine is exposed to great changes, and the Zionist enemy should be concerned about the retaliatory responses of the resistance groups.
