Zionist regime acts hypocritically towards
Jordan, desires unrest in region

Abed Al-Zariei

In an exclusive interview with Qods News Agency, the Director of the Center for Palestinian Studies and Development Studies in Tunisia Abed Al-Zariei said that the Zionist regime follows the policy of “divide and rule” to destabilize the region so that Arab rulers come to this illusion that Zionists live in peace despite tensions in the region.

Talking about the recent failed coup in Jordan, Al-Zariei asserted that “along with Jordan’s economic problems, the corrupted government has brought an unwelcome situation in Jordanian society. Naturally, different factions in Jordan seek foreign aids to resolve the situation in the Arab country.

“The UAE and Saudi Arabia are using different leverages against Jordan kingdom to reach their religious goal such as controlling holy places in the occupied territories of Palestine, which Jordan is in charge of them at the moment,” the Middle East expert went on to say.

Al-Zariei then noted that a few countries, especially Saudis, have mentioned that the release of one of the prominent figures, who is under arrest after the failed coup and has some links with Riyadh, can be a solution for reducing Jordan’s domestic problems.

Referring to the possible role of the Zionist regime in the failed coup, the Tunisian scholar added that “while there is a peace treaty between Jordan and Israel, Zionists’ policies towards Jordan have been totally hypocrite over the past years. Israel wants an unrest Jordan to maintain its security.”

“Despite this, Zionist officials seek to follow their crucial strategies in their future engagements with Jordan, including the future of the occupied West Bank,” Al-Zariei underlined.

Al-Zariei also talked about the Israeli media coverage of the failed coup, saying that “Israeli media magnifies incidents in Jordan to convey a message to the Persian Gulf Arab regimes that Israel is completely secure and in peace despite all domestic tensions in Jordan.”
