Norway rejected vaccine collaboration with Israel

In February, Israel invited Norway to a vaccine collaboration, but the invite was rejected, newspaper Dagens Næringsliv (DN) writes. Several opposition politicians reacted strongly to the news.

According to DN, Norway was invited to a comprehensive collaboration on the development and production of vaccines with Israel in a letter from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on February 4, but Norway has refused the invitation.

“An assessment was made of whether we had more to gain from cooperation with Israel at that time. The health professional assessment was that we did not. Therefore, we replied to Israel that we did not see the need for enhanced cooperation now,” Prime Minister Erna Solberg told DN.

The Center Party’s (SP) parliamentary leader Marit Arnstad and the Progress Party’s (FRP) deputy leader Sylvi Listhaug reacted to Norway saying “no” to the Israeli invitation by voicing their criticism.
