US presence in Mideast
brings instability

Janice Kortkamp

Qodsna (Tehran) - Speaking to Qods News Agency about the US foreign policies in the Middle East and its impact on Arab states in the region, an independent researcher and writer regarding the Middle East, Janice Kortkamp said that the presence of US forces in the region has brought instability.

“The CIA, State Department and Pentagon use similar methods against every country they wish to control. They analyse each situation to find problems that they can capitalize on to make them worse in order to divide the people against each other. They prop up various opposition groups or individuals as the "new leaders" of the country,” Kortkamp said.

She then described economic measures by the US against countries who defy its policies as another tool of aggression, noting that “economic pressure is applied to weaken the economies creating more misery for the people in hopes they will rise up against their leadership and help in the regime change efforts. Each time it results in massive death and destruction, a forever occupation, fragmented societies, millions of displaced persons, increased corruption and a loss of hope for the future.”

Talking about violations of Syrian sovereignty by the US since 2011, the human right activist further said that “the US, UK and France determined to undermine Syria and create conflict starting back in the mid-2000s; Syria had been a target for "Israel-first" neocons since the 1990's. The Israeli leaders have not hidden their ambitions for conquest over all of Palestine, as well as Lebanon and of course Syria's Golan. In order for them to do this, the strong, independent nations of Syria, Iraq and Iran have to be either put under submission, broken up into smaller weak states, or destroyed outright.”

“The West's royal puppets of Saudi Arabia will do anything their western sponsors want them to. They had always used Lebanon and Syria as pleasure palaces for their debauchery while at the same time Wahhabi extremists wanted to destroy the secular societies of Lebanon, Syria and Iraq and the Shia based government in Iran. All of this aggression against Syria has been unlawful, a catastrophic crime against humanity, that could not have happened without the determination of the US,” Kortkamp said, referring to relations between the US and Saudi Arabia.

She then talked about the creation of the terrorist group of ISIS, underlining that “he arming and support of extremists and terrorists including al Qaeda and ISIS forces is easily proven, and by US law could be considered treason, yet the media has failed to report on it.”

“The US continues to protect al Qaeda and other terrorist groups in Idlib. The fact that the American government is protecting terrorists affiliated with the group they blame for 9/11 is an indication of how corrupt and deceitful US policies and actions really are,” Janice Kortkamp noted.
