American neo-cons, Zionist, Saudi lobbies
behind assassination of Gen. Soleimani

Pepe Escobar

The three top factions who pushed for Soleimani’s assassination were US neo-cons - who understand nothing about Middle East geopolitics - and the Israeli and Saudi lobbies, who believe their interests are advanced every time Iran is attacked, Pepe Escobar said in an interview.

In an exclusive interview with Qods News Agency on the occasion of the first anniversary of the martyrdom of General Qasem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, Brazilian political analyst, Pepe Escobar called the assassination of Gen. Soleimani “an act of war”.

Gen. Soleimani’s designation as a “terrorist” is an “old and standard propaganda op - peddled by American neo-cons, Tel Aviv and Riyadh only”, Escobar said, adding that “the designation has been completely discredited by top powers Russia, China and all across the Global South.”

He further explain that “the three top factions who pushed for Soleimani’s assassination were US neo-cons - who understand nothing about Middle East geopolitics - and the Israeli and Saudi lobbies, who believe their interests are advanced every time Iran is attacked.”

“Trump did not see The Big Picture in the Middle East - which he does not understand; only what his major donor Sheldon Adelson dictates, and what Jared Kushner whispered in his ear, tele-guided by Mohammad Bin Salman”, stressed Pepe Escobar, referring to Zionist and Saudi lobbies that influence Trump’s decisions in the Middle East.

The Brazilian expert then asserted that Iran would not change its foreign policy, adding that “if the Biden-Harris administration - in fact the higher powers who will really conduct this administration - decide to come back to the table and discuss geopolitical issues with Tehran in a civilized manner, there is chance diplomacy will once again prevail. “

“Tehran has made it very clear that a return to at least a measure of peaceful atmosphere involves the return of Washington to the JCPOA and the end of illegal, unilateral Trump administration sanctions. These parameters are non-negotiable,” Escobar noted.

Talking about recent normalization deals between the Zionist regime and some Arab states, Pepe Escobar stressed that “there’s absolutely no way Israel may enjoy any sort of normalization with both Damascus and Baghdad - because these are not patsies, lackeys, or poodles of the Persian Gulf variety”.

“The normalization between Israel and some Arabic nations has been conducted on two fronts: blind hatred of the IRI, and assorted bribes distributed by the Trump administration,” he added.
