UN supports Palestinian rights to West Bank

The UN General Assembly on Wednesday adopted four annual resolutions supporting Palestine and against the actions of Israel, TASS reported.

In these documents, the UN General Assembly calls on all countries to contribute to the self-determination of the Palestinian people, as well as to the Middle East settlement on the basis of two states.

All resolutions were adopted by an overwhelming majority, but with the US, Israel, Canada, and Australia voting against.

In one such resolution, the UN General Assembly calls for a complete cessation of Israeli settlement activities in the "occupied Palestinian territories," including in East Al-Quds (Jerusalem), and calls for an end to provocations by Israeli settlers, including in places of religious worship. This resolution refers also to the status of Al-Quds.

The other three documents adopted relate to UN internal procedures and initiatives aimed at supporting the Middle East settlement and ensuring the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.
