Qodsna (Tehran) – In an exclusive interview with Qods News Agency about Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, Head of the Research and Innovation Organization of the Ministry of Defense, who was assassinated in a terrorist operation on Friday near Tehran, Talal Atrisi, Chairman of Beirut strategic studies center said : “The assassination of Iran's nuclear scientist by global arrogant criminals has more than one purpose.  The first goal is to stop the Islamic Republic of Iran from advancing its nuclear program. The enemies believe that this is possible only through the assassination of Iranian scientists, like the other four scientists who assassinated in the last 10 years.

The second goal is the current political period in the United States, where the transfer of power between Biden and Trump is taking place, Atrisi said, adding “The Zionist regime, which is known to be the first suspect of this assassination, is trying to use the last days of Trump era in power against Iran's nuclear program and stop the possibility of a new round of talks between the two sides”. 

In other words, Israel expects Iran to react immediately after the assassination, and then the Biden government will no longer have a chance to negotiate with Iran during the war, he noted.

The third purpose of this assassination was to prove that Netanyahu, Zionist regime’s prime minister, in the midst of his internal crises has the power to achieve great things through foreign operations and to get out of the pressure, Chairman of Beirut strategic studies center added.

He reiterates that the assassination of the Iranian nuclear scientist will undoubtedly have not any effect on Iran's nuclear progress. Iran's nuclear program has progressed and Iran has many scientists in this field.
