Palestine, Norway sign agreements worth $7.5 Million

The agreements include supporting a number of schools during the coronavirus pandemic and development of drinking water facilities.

Under the auspices and in the presence of Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh, Palestine and Norway signed a number of agreements at a value of $7.5 million.

 

Minister of Education Marwan Awartani, Minister of Women's Affairs Amal Hamad, Minister of Finance Shukri Bishara, and UNDP head of office in Gaza, Chitose Noguchi, signed a number of agreements with the Norwegian representative to Palestine Torunn Viste during a meeting at the PA prime minister’s office in Ramallah. 

 

The agreements include supporting a number of schools during the coronavirus pandemic, through the development of drinking water facilities and handwashing facilities, in addition to supporting technical and vocational education and training in Al-Quds schools.

 

An agreement to support the UNDP cash-for-work program, which includes the sectors of education, agriculture, health, and municipalities. In addition to empowering women and youth.

 

Shtayyeh praised the Norwegian support to Palestine, conveying President Mahmoud Abbas’ greetings to the government and people of Norway.
