Fathi Shaqaqi was fruit
of Islamic Revolution

Hossein Kanani Moghaddam

Qodsna (Tehran) - On the occasion of the martyrdom of Fathi Shaqaqi, the former co-founder and Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, the Middle East affairs expert, Hossein Kanani Moghaddam said: “Fathi Shaqaqi was the fruit of the Islamic Revolution. His beliefs were the basis of the ideology of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, the movement that has continued the way of Fathi Shaqaqi till now.”

He referred to the methods of resistance that Fathi Shaqaqi established, saying Fathi Shaqaqi was inspired by Imam Khomeini and founded the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine based on Islamic thought.

“The aim of the Islamic Jihad Movement was the liberation of Al-Quds by jihad and armed resistance,” Hossein Kanani Moghaddam added.

Talking about the role of Fathi Shaqaqi in changing the ideology of Palestinian towards the Zionist regime, he stressed: “Pan-Arabism, Communist or Maoist movements were active before the ideology of Fathi Shaqaqi, but they were not able to do anything but to making peace and compromising. Ever since the Islamic resistance came into the field of fighting against the Zionist regime, it is obvious that a deterring power has been established in Palestine.”

“It was the Islamic Jihad Movement that opposed with Israel from the first moment and orchestrated several operations against Israelis,” Hossein Kanani Moghaddam noted

The current Palestinian resistance is certainly the result of the culture of resistance that was initiated by Fathi Shaqaqi. If the current resistance defeats the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip and prevents further occupation, that is the reason for the faith that Fathi Shaqaqi created in the hearts of Palestinians.
