SDPN statement on the Day of Solidarity with Palestinian Children and Youth

The 9th of Mehr (September 30, 2000) is the anniversary of the martyrdom of a Palestinian child who was martyred in the arms of his father in front of the television cameras by the direct fire of the Zionist occupying regime, the Iran-based Society for the Defense of the Palestinian Nation (SDPN said in a statement.

Twenty years ago,  11-year-old Mohammad al-Durah was martyred in the arms of his father. Nothing happened except a few statements of condemnation from some governments and the international community. However, according to all internationally accepted conventions, this act of the Zionists is considered a war crime and the case should have been brought to international judicial bodies including International Criminal Court and the perpetrators of this incident should have been tried and convicted. But the world saw and did nothing!, the statement added.

“There is no doubt that according to international law, this crime does not involve the passage of time and still has the capacity of follow- up in international judicial bodies”.

The SDPN strongly condemns the silence of governments and the international community and said that the silence will encourage the Zionist occupiers to increase and expand their criminal acts against the Palestinian people and the nations of the region.

The Iran-based Society for the Defense of the Palestinian Nation also describes normalization of ties between some Arab regimes with the child-killing Zionist regime as an act contrary to the explicit orders of Islam and the Holy Qur'an, and a great betrayal of the holy cause of Palestine and Holy Quds, as well as a clear insult to the feelings of Muslim nations.

“There is no doubt that this alliance with the Zionist occupiers will not be in the advantage of these governments and will pose a huge amount of threats against them, and will also encourage the Zionists to intensify their crimes in the Palestinian territories”.
