Another Gazan protester succumbs to Israeli gunshot wounds

Another Palestinian protester has succumbed to his wounds after being shot by Israeli snipers during peaceful anti-occupation rallies in the Gaza Strip.

According to Press TV, on Tuesday, Rami al-Ghalban took his last breath after fighting for his life for nearly two years. He was shot and critically wounded in August 2018 during a demonstration in the east of the Gaza Strip. The slain protester’s family said Rami’s martrdom will not stop their fight for freedom.

Rami al-Ghalban was a peaceful activist in the Great March of Return rallies which began in March 2018 to demand the right of return for Palestinian refugees as well as complete lifting of the brutal Israeli blockade on Gaza.

Different rights groups, including Human Rights Watch, have condemned what they describe as Israel’s open-fire and shoot-to-kill policy against demonstrators in Gaza. This included demonstrators who pose no imminent threat to life.

Since the beginning of the peaceful rallies Israeli forces killed hundreds of protesters and injured thousands more. The murder of Rami al-Ghalban is seen as just another example of Israel’s decades-long atrocities against Palestinians.

Israel's use of excessive force in response to peaceful Palestinian rallies continues to claim innocent lives in the besieged enclave while the international community stands by.

Currently dozens of wounded protesters are still in critical condition.
