Enemies to suffer heavy casualties if Iran attacked: Top cmdr.

Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri underscores the Islamic Republic’s deterrent power, warning that enemies will have to pay heavy costs if they carry out any act of aggression against the country.

As Reported by Qods News Agency (Qodsna) “The enemy should know that if an act of aggression is launched against the borders of the Islamic homeland, it will face a united nation which follows Leader [of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei] and has strong and powerful Armed Forces,” Baqeri said on Tuesday.

Such a confrontation, he added, would merely bring the enemies heavy casualties and humiliation.

He emphasized, however, that Iran’s deterrent power and military might will prevent the enemy from invading the Islamic Republic, adding that it is thanks to this power that the country is enjoying security today.

The senior Iranian commander said the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic have proved over the past 40 years that they have no intention to carry out any act of aggression against other countries and have no greedy eye on resources and territories of the neighbors, but they will stand firm against any aggression.

“The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have a heavy duty to establish sustainable security and to create and promote effective deterrence in the face of all the animosity, plots, sanctions, pressure and threats against the country,” Baqeri added.

Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami said in September that the Islamic Republic will give a strong response to the slightest act of aggression.

"We will deal severely with the slightest act of aggression and if such behavior is repeated, our response will certainly be stronger," Hatami said.
