Ayatollah Khamenei: No talks with US; maximum pressure campaign futile
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says Iran will not engage in negotiations with the United States “at any level,” and that Washington's "maximum pressure" campaign against the Iranian nation has failed to achieve its goals.
As Reported by Qods News Agency (Qodsna) Speaking on Tuesday, Ayatollah Khamenei said entering talks with the US indicates that Washington has managed to impose its demands on Iran, adding, “Negotiations would mean a manifestation of the victory of America’s ‘maximum pressure’ campaign.”
“That is why the country’s officials — from the president to the foreign minister and others — have unanimously announced that we will not hold talks with the US — neither bilaterally nor multilaterally,” the Leader said.
The New York Times published two articles to review the military power of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of the Zionist regime, especially when it comes to retaliation for the regime’s recent airstrike on Iranian consulate in Syria as well as the issue that the United States’ targets unlikely to be on list in possible Iranian attack.
David French, a columnist with The New York Times, wrote that the Zionist is encountering many of the same obstacles that the United States faced in Iraq, and it is repeating many of the same errors.
The decision by the US to not use its veto on Resolution 2728 was influenced by factors such as popular pressure in Western countries against the ceasefire.
