Hezbollah Chief lauds Iran role in supporting Resistance
Secretary-General of Hezbollah Movement Hassan Nasrallah in a televised speech underlined Iran and Syria's role in supporting Resistance.
“The Hezbollah leader stressed that Iran and Syria were the only two countries supporting the Resistance in its war against the usurper regime highlighting that Hezbollah social sympathizers played an important role through their steadfastness and sacrifices,” Lebanese media Al Manar reported.
Referring to US sanctions against Hezbollah, Nasrallah said sanctions against Hezbollah will not delay the Lebanese government’s formation, denying the reports claiming that the movement seeks a speedy formation of the government for fear of a possible Israeli war on Lebanon and the consequences of the sanctions.
“Those men can never be defeated by blacklisting their names,” he added.
He went on to say that “Hezbollah's vital role in defeating the Zionist enemy and frustrating the US schemes in the region certainly expose it to such sanctions.”
Elsewhere in his remarks he refuted Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita's allegations that Iran and Hezbollah were supporting Plisario Front.
“The Morocco’s FM did not offer any documented evidence to his Iranian counterpart, contrary to what he claimed,” he reiterated.
According to Fox News, Bourita earlier said that his country's intelligence service discovered that the Iranian proxy Hezbollah was supplying the Polisario Front rebel group with arms.
Lebanese Hezbollah earlier in a statement refuted allegations made by Morocco that it supported Polisario fighters.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi also refuted allegations that Iran embassy in Algeria cooperated with Polisario Front.
