350 Palestinian children in Israeli detention

Palestinian Prisoners Center for Studies on Monday reported that the number of Palestinian detained children has jumped to 350 over the past three weeks.

Palestinian Prisoners Center for Studies on Monday reported that the number of Palestinian detained children has jumped to 350 over the past three weeks, according to PIC.

The center’s spokesman, Riyad al-Ashqar, said that the Israeli arrests have escalated by 17 percent after the recent protests at the US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Quds ('Jerusalem') as Israel’s capital.

The number of arrests was estimated at 600 including 200 children, he said, adding that most of the arrests were reported in the occupied city of Quds.

Ashqar warned of the consequences of targeting Palestinian children and stressed that subjecting Palestinian minors to extrajudicial killing, arrest, torture, deportation and house arrest is an Israeli systematic behavior.
